Drake has settled a lawsuit against a woman who said that she was pregnant with his child and accused him of raping her.
It all started back in 2017 when a woman named Layla Lace claimed during an SiriusXM interview that she was pregnant by Drake and had been raped after having a one-night with him. "I know who I sleep with unprotected, period. It's one hundred per cent for sure Drake's child, he know it." The two reportedly met backstage during Drake's Boy Meet World tour last year in February. Layla posted on Instagram saying "So I guess still in this era this is the new thing that after you tell a dude you pregnant they stop answering they phone!!!"
Drake says that after Layla went to the authorities in New York claiming Drake raped her, Layla's lawyer demanded he pay up or they would go public with the rape allegations. Drake then took it upon himself to sue her for civil extortion, emotional distress, defamation, and fraud.
According to TMZ a filling made by Drake against Layla has been resolved. Lace avoided going to trail by agreeing to a stipulated judgment which prohibits her from making any other allegations that Drake assaulted her. She also agreed not to republish the Instagram post in which she claimed she was pregnant
Larry Stein the lawyer representing Drake told TMZ: "The submitting made by Drake towards Layla Lace has been resolved, with Layla avoiding going to trial by agreeing to a stipulated judgment which prohibits her from repeating previous statements she made towards Drake. Drake and his staff are glad about his end result and whereas Drake appreciates the help he has acquired, he asks that his followers and the media permit each event to maneuver on with their lives."
